Prayer Vigil Posted on: 12/09/2008
December 12 and 13. Sign up for 30 minutes of prayer.
We will be gathering together as a community of Christ to lift and surround Sean Anderson and his family in prayer. Sean is a 7th grader who is fighting his second battle with a brain tumor.
We will also be praying for the needs of our families, friends and community.
The sanctuary will be open from December 12 at 6 PM until December 13 at 6 AM.
You don't need to have any special gifts of eloquence, your prayers will be a silent communication between you and God.
Jesus taught his followers the power of prayer when he said:
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! Matthew 7:7-11
Prayer resources and scripture will be available when you come to church. This will be a beautiful and special evening to meet with the Lord in quiet prayer.
All ages and levels of faith are welcome - Jr. High, High School and Young Adults, each group will meet together at set times, but you may also come on your own.
If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Dan or Cindi Mathewson.
