Sunday Adult Bible Study Posted on: 12/29/2008
Our New Year begins with an Old Testament survey. We pick up the story of Israel, God’s chosen people, enslaved under rulers in Egypt. God chooses various individuals to accomplish His purposes in bringing them out of Egypt into the Promised Land. In some cases we find Egyptian midwives, in others, like the conquering of Jericho, we find women of ill repute doing His bidding. We’ll see individuals like Joshua and Samson’s mother make commitments as God’s will for Israel is accomplished. Through these texts we will piece together the beginning of God’s story that eventually leads to Christ and His birth as our Savior and eternal King. We will also see other humans who made a commitment to God in response to His will and promises. Plan to join us. We meet each Sunday morning at 9:30am in Rooms 12/13 in the Education Center, the building at the end of the parking lot. Study guides and Bibles are provided, and coffee is served. See you there. All are welcome; bring a friend.
