As the Santa Clarita Valley continues to grow, Christ Lutheran Church seeks to expand our ministries that we might remain faithful to God's call to invite people into a life changing relationship with God.
Some of our ministry goals in the coming years include: a continuing emphasis on powerful, experiential worship; developing opportunities to enhance relationship-building ministries of the congregation; establishing opportunities for further Christian growth; continuing to hold youth and children's ministries as a highest priority; highlighting our deepening dependence on prayer; reaching out to others as a mission- driven congregation; and positioning ourselves to begin a mission campus to serve the new growth areas of the valley.
The population of the Santa Clarita Valley is expected to increase 57 percent to 353,733 by the year 2010. The planned Newhall Ranch project alone is projected to include almost 21,000 homes -- a population of over 60,000 in the next 25 years. In order to continue to invite people into a life changing relationship with God, Christ Lutheran Church will need to be prepared to do ministry on a site bigger than our current location allows. Thus, we continue to move forward with plans to open a second mission campus in the coming years, perhaps tied to a second campus of our highly regarded preschool. God continues to call this congregation to trust Him and follow boldly as He leads us into our future.
