Do You Have A Minute? Pray the Lord’s Prayer
Our Lord, Jesus Christ himself taught us both the way and the words (Matthew 6:9-13; Luke 1:1-4) and invites and desires us to pray. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be open.” Matthew 7:7 -8
“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Why not begin praying the Lord’s Prayer each and every day, it only takes a minute and our prayers are pleasing to Him and will assuredly be heard. Read the Lord’s Prayer slowly, reverently and meaningfully. Think about what each petition means to you and get into the habit of praying to God, our Father about your life.
The Lord's Prayer Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Beginning Wednesday, September 9th the Prayer Circle will spend time each week studying the petitions of the Lord’s Prayer, discussing what each of them mean and will discover how to talk to God and bring our requests and concerns to Him through prayer. Please join us at 6:00pm in the Prayer Chapel.
