Prayers of Rest,
Life and Encouragement
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
(Psalm 91:1-2)
Gracious Lord, allow me to know the shelter of your love and find peace in your promised presence
The LORD is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? the LORD is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)
Dear Lord of life and hope, you are the strength of the living and the hope of the faithful. Lead and guide me and be to me my Rock and Shield. Bring encouragement and help in the midst of my days and allow me to serve and love you all my life.
I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.(John 15:1, 4-5)
Life giving vine, it is difficult for me to slow down and to abide. You simple request me to draw near to you and to receive and to know you life giving love. Deliver me from the things that consume me without a blessing or without a lasting value. Help me to know your voice and you desire for my days. By your Spirit give me insight and wisdom so that I would grow in my relationship with you and that I would bear fruit for your kingdom. Help me in the days ahead Blessed Jesus. Amen.
